Organising and planning your wedding day is hectic, I know. You've a venue to sort, flowers, attendants, a date to set and of course you have to choose The Dress.

But there's one thing that you really shouldn't forget to do... and that's writing your wedding thank you's for your gifts.

Traditionally it's the bride who writes the thank you notes for wedding presents although in the modern age, there's nothing to stop your bridegroom penning an appreciative letter too.

Whatever the gift you have received - money, something from your wedding registry .... even if it's something small and inexpensive, you must always say thank you.

It's not enough to send an e mail either or a text. Well, I suppose you could but if people have taken the time and expense to find something that you wanted you really should be a bit more appreciative than that.

Tips For Wedding Thank You Cards

  • Try and write your cards as you receive your gifts - ahead of the wedding day if possible. Then you won't have masses of thank you letters to write all in one go.

  • Respond quickly to receiving a gift. People want to know whether you have received it safely and may bring it up in conversation if they see you before you've written a note - which is embarassing if you haven't acknowledged it.
  • If you write your letters and notes promptly you won't feel you need to write so much. A couple of paragraphs expressing your thanks for the gift and a news update is sufficient.personalised wedding stationery
